50 Tompkins St Cortland

The Brewer Mansion, 50 Tompkins St. Cortland ,NY was built in 1904-05. Mr. Brewer died in 1924 followed by Mrs. Brewer in 1937. After Mrs. Brewer died, the house remained unoccupied until 1946 when Delta Kappa Beta fraternity bought it for $17,500, significantly less than the $125,000 it cost to build the 9,336 sq. foot house and 2,618 sq. foot Carriage House. The Carriage house was located at the rear of the property.
